HOW TO BRING THE AMERICAN
JAZZ REPERTORY ORCHESTRA TO YOUR SCHOOL OR COLLEGE
AJRO is now scheduling performances for the first half of
2009 in the mid-Atlantic states and western New England.
Inquiries are being accepted for other regions.
American Jazz Venues has devised an enriching performance
experience for students and fans alike, one that can be
implemented without any financial risk. It entails a
collaboration between schools jazz ensembles and professional
artists, in a joint concert.
Because AJV pays the AJRO's fees through a revenue split for
the collaborative event, the AJRO performs at no financial
risk to the school. The only other cost is a small mileage
allowance for venues that are more than 150 miles from New
York City. Besides providing the facility, music stands,
piano, etc., the schools main responsibility will be to
publicize and sell tickets for the event.
Beyond that, our success is ensured only by your success.
Additionally, many of the AJV artists conduct clinics and master
classes, for which they charge a separate fee. Inviting other
high schools from, say, a 50-mile radius could help ensure a
good audience for the evening performance, as well as the
clinic.
The partnering of the pros with the student groups results in
a musically educational experience that provides students with a
more in-depth knowledge of Jazz; it will engender more audience
interest (and, enlighten the pros to the interest and respect
that youth have for Jazz).
American Jazz Venues is a not-for-profit organization
dedicated to our nations cultural heritage and musical legacy.
Our goal is to create more venues for live performance,
principally by developing a new and informed audience.
To do further explore this idea, please be in touch with Clem
cderosa75@aol.com or
fill out the form below. AJV guest artists are a way to call
attention to your already well-respected program, have fun, and
perhaps make a little money for your band's library, the master
class/clinic, or a band trip.
We will get back to you by email, and then schedule a
telephone conversation or exchange of correspondence. Thank you
for your interest.
